There are many sub-disciplines that fall under general biology, but there are specific topics within this area of study that I believe are the most important, and therefore, they should be covered in introductory biology courses.

Genetics – This is a very basic course on human biology that covers the basics of DNA and its related properties. You will learn how DNA is encoded, its properties, and the different chromosomes that make up our DNA. You will also learn about the different chromosomes and their roles in human physiology, and also how they interact with each other to form different types of tissue and organs in the body. You will also learn about different types of mutations that occur within our DNA, which can lead to disease and deformities and even death.

You will learn about the different sexual organs, what they do, and how they affect reproduction.

Cell Biology – This is a very basic class in general biology. It will cover the various cells that make up the body, how they work together, and their functions in our overall system. You will also learn about how different types of cells function, and how cells interact with one another. You will also learn about how cells divide and how they build new cells. If you take the right kind of biology course, it will prepare you for a career in many ways. In graduate school, you can go on to take a PhD, a doctorate, or an MS, all of which prepare you for a different type of doctorate. program and career in the field of biology.
